Theatre Skills is a class that is designed to teach the fundamentals of theatre. These skills include (but are not limited to) improvisation, monologues, duets, pantomime, acting for music theatre, Shakespeare, auditioning, skit presentations, theatre technical and crew skills, sketch comedy, comedic timing, terminology, and self-awareness. Grades 8-9 will add an emphasis in writing.
Music Skills will focus on the instruction of music theory, sight-reading, and singing techniques. As a musician - whatever your instrument may be - it is vital that you understand the fundamentals of music so that you can excel as an artist.
Kismet Youth Choir provides students with an opportunity to learn about ensemble singing, voice technique, choral repertoire, and group performance. Rehearsal will include vocal warm-ups and technique, choral singing, and music games. KYC will perform in local community venues once in the holiday season and once in the spring, as well as a fall concert and a spring concert.
